SmartMove participants in the Spanish town of Burgos changed their travel behavior significantly, with 22 percent reporting increasing their use of public transport following the campaign there.

Modest participation but good impact in Wittenberg
As in the other SmartMove implementing region of VON, Germany’s Wittenberg region had difficulty mustering participants. But those who took part seemed to have taken the campaign’s messages to heart, with an impressive 23 percent increasing their use of public transport.

Krakow campaign seeks out a success on difficult commuter line
Due to the bus routes relatively long length, 13.2 km, the small modal shift from private car to bus yielded significant environmental benefits: Participants save 6,921 litres of fuel per year, which translates in to 16.4 tonnes of avoided CO2 emissions.

In Kreis Euskirchen, 25% of those taking part boost bus use
SmartMove’s campaign in Kreis Euskirchen was challenged in getting participants, but it ended up having a strong impact: Among those who took part in the local active mobility consultancy campaign 25 percent reported increasing their use of public transport.
